Steps

Get to know the teacher. Sometimes it works best if you have a good relationship with your teacher. I don't mean teachers pet, I mean to be at a comfortable level with the person. Remember, teachers are just like you or me. They were all in school once too, so be nice and you'll be surprised how well things will go for you.
Take careful notes (yeah, it's boring, I'll admit it), but if you write things down you'll understand it and it will be less miserable.
Make friends in the class. Time will fly by if you make some buddies in Biology!
Go on autopilot. Zone out once in a while, it can't hurt if you aren't doing anything important.

Tips

Study for tests at least a week before! 10 minutes every night goes a long way.
Prepare for labs ahead of time, it will help you greatly.
If you miss a day, make sure you catch up on the notes. This is when those friends will come in handy.

Warnings

Having a bad relationship with your teacher could result in your getting an...an...F!

Have you ever had trouble with school because you simply couldn't figure out what to do for your science project?

Steps

Do some research for a project. There are plenty of books and websites devoted to helping your science project be as easy as possible. They can provide you with ideas and instructions. This will help you a lot! If you're creative, make up your own idea. Ditch the overused baking soda volcano idea. Be aware, though, as this might not be the easiest thing to do because you're giving up step-by-step instructions.
Choose a project and make sure it's something you're capable of. Rocket science is not an appropriate project for a 4th-grader. Just the same, if you're in high school, the teacher will not be impressed if you do a project on nail polish.
Work with a partner if at all possible. Voilà, you both instantly split your work in half! And as the saying goes, two heads are better than one. However, be sure to pick a reliable partner. It's a pain if your partner refuses to do any work.
Start as early as possible! As with all projects, the earlier you start, the better off you'll be. If you finish a week early, you have a whole worry-free week. Imagine how difficult it would be if you had to do it all in one night.
Decorate your posterboard a little. Not every letter has to be outlined with glitter and sequins, but a little extra effort goes a long way. It's simple too! Teachers do care about appearance, and they might be willing to give a few extra credit points if your project looks nice and neat.
The night before it's due, make sure you have everything you need. It would be AWFUL if you got points knocked off because you left something at home. This should only take a minute or two. Then get a good night's sleep. That wasn't so hard, was it?

Tips

Do your best! Usually teachers know what level you're on. If you aim to go a notch higher, despite whether or not that might be better than someone else, they will most likely give you a good grade.

Warnings

Some teachers may not allow partner work.
Try not to overdo it.
If you're entering a science fair, never, ever consider cheating.

Hydroquinone (C6H6O2) is a severely toxic and very powerful chemical used in photo processing, the manufacture of rubber and is an active agent in hair dyes. Mercury in the form of Mercury Chloride and Ammoniated Mercury is carcinogenic. They appear on the list of toxic substances that can only be purchased via pharmacies with prescribed labels of toxicity.Hydroquinone or Mercury applied to the skin will react with ultra violet rays and re-oxidize, leading to more pigmentation and premature ageing. More product is then applied in an attempt to correct the darker blotchy appearance. This leads to a very vicious cycle. By inhibiting the body's natural production of melanin, your skin loses its natural protection from the sun and makes it more susceptible to skin cancer.Prolonged use of Hydroquinone will thicken collagen fibers damaging the connective tissues. The result is rough blotchy skin leaving it with a spotty darkened appearance. These dangerous products can also thin the skin, leaving it with irreversible stretch marks. A common result of skin bleaching with these dangerous ingredients is a condition called ocronosis in which the pigment drops into the dermis making it almost impossible to remove. Many have reported a blackening of the skin that looks worse than the original brown spots ever did. And sadly, once this damage has been done, it is usually irreversible. Mercury will slowly accumulate within the skin cells striping the skin of it's natural pigment leaving behind a grayish/blue pigmentation in the folds of the skin. In the long term the chemical will damage vital organs and lead to liver and kidney failure and mercury poisoning.Hydroquinone has recently been banned from various countries after studies have proven links to hydroquinone and cancer. Studies have shown that hydroquinone can be an irritant in concentrations above 4%. Some scientists have proposed that it can also lower your IQ and your verbal abilities. But despite all of this information that is known about hydroquinone, it is still widely available over the internet, so caution must be used when selecting a skin lightening product. There are many creams that actually work better than those with hydroquinone and mercury, and are natural and safe, and good for your skin. So after reading all of this alarming stuff, you're probably wondering what's safe to use to fade melasma or lighten brown spots? You should look for products containing Alpha Hydroxic Acids, Arbutin, Azelaic acid, and Vitamin C to name a few.

I am from Seattle, Washington. Seattle is a city in the United States. It is near the border of Canada in the northwest corner of the USA. I live in a town called Olympia which is on the Puget Sound. I live in a house in a street in the countryside. The street is called "Bear Street" and the house is old - more than 100 years old! I am an English teacher at a school in the center of the town. I like books and taking photographs. I usually have lunch at school. I usually go home by car. We have all kinds of food in Olympia. I like Italian food very much. Sometimes, I go to an Italian restaurant in Seattle. The restaurant is called "Luigi's". Italian food is great!

Here are the rules for when to use "A, An or The":

a = indefinite article (not a specific object, one of a number of the same objects) with consonants
She has a dog.
I work in a factory.
an = indefinite article (not a specific object, one of a number of the same objects) with vowels (a,e,i,o,u)

the = definite article (a specific object that both the person speaking and the listener know)

The first time you speak of something use "a or an", the next time you repeat that object use "the".

DO NOT use an article with countries, states, counties or provinces, lakes and mountains except when the country is a collection of states such as "The United States".
He lives in Washington near Mount Rainier.
They live in northern British Columbia.
Use an article with bodies of water, oceans and seas -

DO NOT use an article when you are speaking about things in general

How To Improve Your English

Learning English (or any language for that matter) is a process. You are continually improving your English and the following "How to" describes a strategy to make sure that you continue to improve effectively.

Here's How:

Remember that learning a language is a gradual process - it does not happen overnight.

Define your learning objectives early: What do you want to learn and why?

Make learning a habit. Try to learn something every day. It is much better to study (or read, or listen to English news, etc.) 10 minutes each day than to study for 2 hours once a week.

Remember to make learning a habit! If you study each day for 10 minutes English will be constantly in your head. If you study once a week, English will not be as present in your mind.

Choose your materials well. You will need reading, grammar, writing, speaking and listening materials

Vary your learning routine. It is best to do different things each day to help keep the various relationships between each area active. In other words, don't just study grammar.

Find friends to study and speak with. Learning English together can be very encouraging.

Choose listening and reading materials that relate to what you are interested in. Being interested in the subject will make learning more enjoyable - thus more effective.

Relate grammar to practical usage. Grammar by itself does not help you USE the language. You should practice what you are learning by employing it actively.

Move your mouth! Understanding something doesn't mean the muscles of your mouth can produce the sounds. Practice speaking what you are learning aloud. It may seem strange, but it is very effective.

Be patient with yourself. Remember learning is a process - speaking a language well takes time. It is not a computer that is either on or off!

Communicate! There is nothing like communicating in English and being successful. Grammar exercises are good - having your friend on the other side of the world understand your email is fantastic!

Use the Internet. The Internet is the most exciting, unlimited English resource that anyone could imagine and it is right at your finger tips.
